Aubrey loved it! They drove down from Raleigh on Thursday and spent the day catching up with our little Pallone family. The last time they had a chance to see Aubrey was when she was 2 weeks old. Aubrey is now 20 weeks and just a bundle of fun to be around.

Sara and Brett arrived around noon and instantly got their hands on our little girl. Oh Aubrey just soaked up the attention! Sara sat on the floor and played with Aubrey for the longest time. She was absolutely wonderful with her. Unfortunately each time Brett held Aubrey he was unfortuantely showered with spit up, but took it like a pro!

I played the schedule driven mommy roll pretty hard even while they were here. So much of me hates being such a stickler for a schedule and missing out on so much. When it was time for Aubrey to eat and take a nap Sara, Brett, and Bryan headed to the outlets to do some shopping. Sigh....I miss shopping....Haha, but I love my little girl! She comes first no matter what.

When Bryan got home from the outlets Aubrey was just waking up. Sara and Brett headed back to the hotel to rest up before returning for dinner. We decided it was the perfect time for the three of us to run to the grocery store to pick up a few ingredients for dinner. At the store, Bryan wears Aubrey in the Baby Bjorn and I push the cart. Aubrey has gotten to the point where she likes to be involved in everything so anything Bryan touched, Aubrey would reach for. It is so adorbale! She is such a good little helper!!

Unfortunately feeding and nap time for Aubrey did not work out in Bryan's favor. The moment we got home from the store if was time to eat and sleep again. Bryan and I quietly discussed what needed to be done to prepare for dinner and he got to work. Bryan did and AMAZING job. He handled the entire meal BY HIMSELF and it all turned out perfectly! I was very impressed with my wonderful husband and I think Sara and Brett were too!

After dinner we took Aubrey and the doggies on a walk. Sara brought Tink so Emma had some company! The walk was soooo hot! We got home and I immediately gave Aubrey a bath to make her more comfortable. The rest of the gang hung out downstairs eating ice cream and watching a movie. A great way to end a fun day....

Aubrey had such a wonderful visit from her Aunt and Uncle. We got a few of the most adorable pictures from their visit and honestly can't wait to get more. Hopefully we can all get together again soon!!

Sunday morning I woke up wanting nothing more than to take Aubrey swimming. I couldn't wait to see how she reacted to water and the freedom to do whatever she wanted with her little legs. I had been secretly thinking about this for a while and finally decided to do something about it!

The week prior I had taken just a few minutes to look at baby floats but wasn't truly thrilled with my selections. I had also glanced at a few small pools thinking we could maybe get by with putting one on the deck so we didn't have to drive to the pool. So as soon as I woke up, I filled Bryan in on my thoughts. We spent a little time looking through pools and baby floats on the Toys R Us website. I was getting so antsy just looking at the website and asked if we could just hurry up and go to the store. Haha, I was so excited!

It was Aubrey's first true holiday (Memorial Day doesn't really count) and I wanted to make it really special for her! We all loaded up in the car and were the first ones to walk in the door at Toys R Us. The moment we walked in the door there was a stack of one of the nicer pools we had looked at online. They were already marked down 50% and were an additional 25% on July 4th. I also had a $10 off coupon. I looked at Bryan and smiled. We had decided...we were definitely taking Aubrey swimming that day! We found a horrible baby float and purchased it as well just to have one.

Bryan, Aubrey and I head home ready to start our special day. Aubrey went down for a nap and slept much longer than she normally does. I think she must have known Mommy and Daddy had some work to do! Such a sweet girl. My parents helped Bryan and I set up the pool just perfectly on the deck. Any larger and it wouldn't have fit! It took a surprisingly long time to set everything up so we were grateful for Mom and Dad's help.

Aubrey woke up just as they were filling the pool. We slathered her with sunscreen, which she was not exactly thrilled about, and then put her very first bikini on her. Oh that silly thing barely fit but I wanted to get pictures of her in it at least once.

We spent about 30 minutes introducing Aubrey to swimming. She wasn't exactly sure about what was going on. Mom and Dad video taped and photographed her first experience. Thank you Mom and Dad for helping us document such a special first experience for us and Aubrey!!

Below are some pictures from our special first real holiday with Aubrey. Enjoy!
Before Aubrey was born, Bryan and I would spend several hours in the kitchen together making amazing dinners. One of our easy favorites was a Tex Mex Casserole. Bryan has been begging me to make this for the longest time. With Bryan home to help with Aubrey I got to work. He played with Aubrey, carried her in the Baby Bjorn, fed her, and put her down for a nap. It was wonderful to have the help!!!! Aubrey slept for almost an hour, which gave us a little time to get things cleaned up and talk about the evening. Of course, as soon as she woke up, our dinner was ready. It was still early! Bryan and I have been eating later and later or whenever we can because Aubrey always comes first. So having dinner early this evening was a first in a while. My body wasn't used to it.

Our evening was filled with the usual...walk, bath, mini baby massage, nursing, and bed. Once we finally got Aubrey to bed around 9:15, I realized how hungry I was. For some reason all I wanted to eat was a bowl of cereal with some fruit. We didn't have any cereal and I was trying to be good about not eating before bed so I just drank a huge glass of water. Still hungry, I was asleep by 10.

Aubrey woke up around three to spend some quality time with mommio and daddio. We changed her diaper and I nursed her back to sleep as I quietly talked with Bryan. I was feeling a little funny but brushed it off as being tired. For the millionth time told Bryan I was hungry and wished we had some healthy cereal. He reminded me that he had Cocoa Krispies in the cabinet, but I can't stand sugary cereals...especially chocolate! Yuck!! I again had some water and went to bed.

Bryan woke up early this morning to head to the gym for his workout before opening at eight. I begged him not to go...but it didn't work. Haha, he wants abs just about as much as I do! I sleepily said goodbye and went back to bed. Just before seven I suddenly woke up with my heart racing uncontrollably and my body sweating profusely. The room was spinning and my whole body was shaking. I felt sick to my stomach, but strangely not hungry anymore. I knew I had a problem. I prayed Aubrey would sleep for a while so I could get some food back in my system. I barely made it out of the bed, let alone down the stairs without falling over. I saw black spots in my vision and felt delirious. In the kitchen, I grabbed a handful of organic peanut butter pretzel bites and poured a huge glass of grapefruit juice. Today I didn't water down the juice! I sat down at the table and literally ate and drank as quickly as I could. Still not feeling better I made a piece of toast with melted organic mozzarella cheese and poured myself more juice. All I wanted to do was crawl back in bed. I made it back up the stairs, cheese toast and juice in hand, and sat on the edge of the bed eating and drinking yet again. I called Bryan to let him know what was going on. He said he'd be home in a heartbeat if I needed him, but I told him to stay. July 4th weekend is such a huge weekend for the gym.

Since starting this post, Aubrey woke up and was ready to eat. I halfway stumbled into her nursery just hoping she was still sleepy. She was. :-) My sweet girl smiled the biggest smile when I said, "Good Morning Love Bug"!!! I crawled into bed with her and nursed her back to sleep. We both had a nice 30 minute nap before heading downstairs to play. I set her up in her jumper and made some real breakfast. I'm feeling a little bit better now, just extremely weak. Tonight I'm definitely not go to bed starving!Mega Mommieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00981556442893645565noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2720902132751181605.post-90375082430496220032010-07-02T03:59:00.001-04:002010-07-02T03:59:55.018-04:00Aubrey's Midnight RendezvousOh sweet Aubrey....don't you know night time is for sleeping silly girl?? Ever since Bryan went out of town to play football, our routine of putting Aubrey to bed has been thrown off just a bit. Originally Bryan would feed her an entire eight ounce bottle just before bedtime and she would sleep through the night. We felt like such accomplished parents!! On occasion she may wake up around five or six in the early morning and we'd repeat the routine, only with a smaller bottle. She'd be out cold for several more hours. We were actually getting sleep!

When Bryan left for Maryland to play football I was a little scared of what it would be like putting Aubrey down at night. She doesn't very much like taking a bottle from me when she knows her mommy is not only right there, but is also her favorite feeding machine!! So the way I accomplished those nights without Bryan was by laying right next to Aubrey, feeding her until she was fast asleep. I'd then gently pick her up and snuggle her up in her crib. It worked and she slept through the night!

Throughout these last couple weeks Aubrey's been adamant about not taking the bottle from Bryan at night. It sadly only took a couple nights to break our perfect routine. The first few nights with Bryan home I'd feed her in bed as she drifted off to sleep. Each time it took longer and longer for her to truly fall asleep, but at least she was sleeping through the night. This week has been another story!

Aubrey seems to have an internal clock inside that tummy telling her exactly when eight o'clock rolls around. She is ready to crawl into mommy and daddy's bed and slooooooooowly chow down. Just two nights ago took almost two hours to get her to fall asleep. I knew we had to fix something. Last night we were able to get Aubrey to bed by 9:30. We thought just maybe we were in for a good night! Bryan and I dilly dallied around the room, catching up on mundane tasks for about an hour until we finally went to bed. I was just praying she slept through the night!

So 2:30 rolls around and SURPRISE!!! Aubrey wants to eat! That means in the last week she has woken up and hour earlier with each passing day. Now I know by her sleeping five hours straight it's considered "sleeping through the night". I guess Aubrey just spoiled us before. We wanted the really sleeping through the night nights back!

Tonight I snuggled up with Aubrey on the twin bed in her room just hoping for the best. She ate for about 25 minutes and then decided she wanted mommy to wear it. Then she started talking up a storm. I knew I was in trouble. I picked her up and placed her in her crib so she could play with her friends (watch her mobile) and hopefully drift off to la la land happily. While she played I came back into our room and started making another bottle. Multi tasking is a must with this girl! :-) Halfway into making the bottle Aubrey's little "I'm hungry" cries started. Bryan and I looked at her monitor and both her fists were shoved in her mouth as she rolled from side to side. She was hungry and wanted her mommy! We decided Bryan would make a valiant attempt at feeding her a bottle to get her down. That's where he is now and has been for almost 30 minutes...He thinks I'm curled up in bed sleeping so he very lovingly turned the monitor off when Aubrey let out her first little cry. He is so sweet.

Bryan just walked back into the room and immediately crawled into bed. We are both so tired. I just can't sleep when I know he's trying to put her down. He said she ate the entire bottle and went down perfectly. Yay!! Hopefully our sweet girl will sleep for another five hours! Nighty Night!!Mega Mommieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00981556442893645565noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2720902132751181605.post-80198501330957675282010-06-24T17:00:00.001-04:002010-06-25T05:13:19.381-04:00Rolling, Rolling, Rolling....Monday was a big day for Aubrey!! We started out the day just as we typically do. She ate breakfast with her mommy and then decided after sleeping through the night it was time to play! I laid her down on her activity mat on the living room floor and let her go to work with her toys. I walked into the kitchen to start working on preparing my lunch for later in the day. There is no telling when Aubrey would give me another free second to get some things done. Even though I'm not on the floor with her, I still continue to talk to her and keep an eye on her from the open kitchen. I happened to look up just at the right time when all of a sudden she rolled over! She propped herself up on her elbows and looked up at me with the biggest smile on her face. Oh she was so proud of herself and I was ecstatic! I quickly yelled for my mom to come and see. Both my parents and brother came running. Oh she loved the attention!!! We were all so incredibly proud of her!

Tomorrow we are finally getting our camcorder in the mail. I feel like we've missed out on so much, but we are going to make up for lost time! I'm not sure if I can post videos on here, but I'll do my best to figure it out. If so, you'll soon she Aubrey in action!!Mega Mommieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00981556442893645565noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2720902132751181605.post-42720890697230243572010-06-24T16:51:00.000-04:002010-06-24T16:51:36.642-04:00Father's Day Weekend Away...Bryan and I have had quite a crazy month. A few weeks ago he was contacted to play quarterback in a couple games of pro football again. Apparently the teams quarterback had somehow gotten injured and could not play in the final games. With these games he even had a shot at winning the ever coveted championship ring he's always dreamed of winning. The first game was held in Green Bay, Wisconsin and the second in College Park, Maryland. Bryan and I discussed the possibility of him playing and decided he should go for it. Now for some reason, there was a tremendous amount of chaos involved with planning out the first trip. We both got so incredibly frustrated with the issues that continued to confront us along the way. It finally got down to the day of the game and getting Bryan to Green Bay just wasm't working out. He was incredibly bummed, but I reminded him everything happens for a reason. The team unfortunately lost the game that night but still had a shot at the championship. Now for some silly reason, travel plans for the second game once again came down to the wire. One minute Bryan was going and the next he was possibly staying home. The whole thing put my stomach in knots. I just wanted a finalized game plan. Finally, a decision was made and Bryan was headed north. He was honestly so excited! I was so incredibly proud of him too.
That evening Bryan called me before the game and sent his love to his girls. I wished him good luck and begged him not to get hurt. My parents and I purchased the game on the internet and sat down to watch Bryan do his thing. Right away I knew my wishes of Bryan not getting hurt were pretty much thrown out the window. He was getting attacked from every angle! The kicker came when he hit his hand on an opponent's helmet and couldn't throw anymore. Bryan was done....which meant he was really hurting. The game quickly ended and unfortunately the team he was playing for lost. No championship games this year...

After the end of the game Bryan called sounding exhausted and in pain. He said the paramedics were working on wrapping his hand and his arm. They told Bryan he probably had a broken finger and two severe sprains in his wrist. I couldn't believe it. Bryan was hurting and just wanted to be home. He sent me a photo of his bandaged wrist and hand as soon as he got in the car. He was just dying to be home. The guys he went with wanted to be home too so they drove through the night to get back to the beach. Bryan arrived home early early Father's Day morning, completely exhausted. He crawled in bed to rest for a few hours before trying to enjoy his very first Father's Day.

Even though Bryan was really hurting, he just couldn't keep his hands off his baby girl. He missed her so much. On Bryan's very first Father's Day he couldn't quite hold his daughter, but he could wear her!
I cannot believe how quickly the time has flown by. With each passing day I am amazed by her even more. She's talking up a storm and moving around a little bit more each day. Her favorite words now are agoo, goop, ahh, and hi. She actually started immitating today too! Grandma was the first to notice while they were playing together. She has accomplished grabbing her toys and putting everything in her mouth. Her hands are her favorite thing to nibble on. She loves having her feet and her tummy kissed and tickled. She gets the biggest gummy smile on her face that is the most adorable thing I've ever seen. She is perfect and her daddy and I love her more than words. Our precious baby girl is growing up!

I love it! Tyron now has names for all of his workouts. Method Behind the Madness are continuous 20 minute workouts that wear you out in a hurry. I have been enjoying them so much. Each new day that I train with Tyron, I can't wait to see what he's planning on putting me through next. My first workout in June was called "Guns & Buns". As soon as I heard the name I knew I was going to love it...well at least half of it! I love working on my legs, but arms have always been such a challenge for me. Below is the workout he put me through...
I sincerely struggled through this workout. It was such a challenge but I was so sore the following day. I knew I had definitely completed a successful workout.

My next workout of the week was my favorite so far. It's been three days since the workout and I am still sore! I honestly can't wait to do it again. Tyron brought a white board with each of the exercises listed in order making it easily to follow so I wouldn't have to stop if I'd forgotten what was next. So very nice of him! With this workout I only have four different exercises. The catcher was I had to complete the set of four exercises 10 times in a certain amount of time. He kind of made it into a little bit of a game too. Basically I had two minutes to complete 10 reps of each of the four exercises. If I finished early, I was able to rest until the full two minutes were up. If I finished in 60 seconds or less, I had to increase my weights and level of difficulty. And if I finished right at two minutes I didn't get a break and had to go right back into the next set. I loved it!!! I was exhausted by the time I was done and loved the fact that I had just completed an amazing workout in just 20 minutes. Even Baby Aubrey loves the 20 minute workouts because she gets her mommy back faster!!

http://www.tyronjohnson.com/ is Tryon Johnson's personal training website. On his website he explains in detail the concept behind his 20/10 workouts and why they are so efficient. He lists several different workouts in three different levels depending on the level of difficulty you're able to handle. His site also has tons of nurtritional information and fitness tips too. Each of these workouts are very similar to the workouts performed in his Knockout Bootcamp classes at MegaFitness. There is always room for one more bootcamper up for the challenge!!! If I can do these workouts after just having a baby and truly love them and see amazing results, I know anyone else that is up to the Knockout Bootcamp challenge will see amazing results and love the constant changes along the way.Mega Mommieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00981556442893645565noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2720902132751181605.post-20386511640449384122010-06-03T13:03:00.001-04:002010-06-03T13:03:33.586-04:0010 Little Fingers and 10 Little Toes...Bryan has officially been named the nail cutting guru of the family. Shockingly though considering the way his hands look. Sorry honey. :-) Aubrey's nails grow so quickly! Normally while I'm feeding her he'll trim them while she's semi calm. I've noticed for a few days now that her nails are way too long. This morning when I saw the small scratch marks on my chest and the scratch marks all over Aubrey's face and head, I knew it was time. By this time Bryan was already at work so I knew I had to make the attempt on my own. I carried her downstairs and placed her on her activity mat. That way she had something to distract her, even if just a tiny bit. I started with her hands because they were causing the most damage. Once I clipped her pinky nail her hands started going crazy! I couldn't even hold onto her little hand. Aubrey has the strongest grip too so even if I was able to grab her hand she'd grab on tight for dear life, curling her little fingers into my skin. I wanted to give up and wait until Bryan came home, but I couldn't bear to see her scratch her face anymore. I held her hand firmly with one hand and with the other shook the activity center and then trimmed a finger nail. Well, that only worked once. I started whistling like a crazy person and Aubrey got very still. She looked at me with the most confused little look on her face. I giggled and smiled at her, but went quickly back to work. Aubrey was quickly becoming accustomed to my silly whistling so I started making crazy noises. Oh I wanted to be done so bad! I finally made it through all her little fingers and then remember those little toes digging into my tummy. While I had her on the mat, semi content, I knew I had to make an attempt. All the little stinker wanted to do was kick me and laugh. I have to admit it was pretty amusing. I did somehow manage to make it through all ten of her little toes...even the pinkies! Aubrey did such a great job! I am so proud of her putting up with me. Now we will all be scratch free for about a week!!Mega Mommieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00981556442893645565noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2720902132751181605.post-14097605769982141582010-05-31T21:12:00.001-04:002010-06-01T22:27:46.431-04:00PANCAKES vs. pancakesFor the last month or so Bryan and I have fallen into a little bit of a bad habit each Sunday morning. We have been enjoying homemade buttermilk pancakes instead of our typical eggs and oatmeal. On these "cheat day" Sunday mornings I'd always make eggs to go along with the pancakes in an attempt to be slightly healthier, but could rarely get Bryan to eat any of them. He would take full advantage of a very yummy yet full on bad for you breakfast...Aunt Jemima and all!! I'd end up eating all of the eggs and a pancake or two with watered down pure maple syrup yet still feel horribly guilty.

This past Sunday I just couldn't eat the buttermilk pancakes again. I'm trying so hard to get the rest of this baby weight off and I knew that meal certainly would not help! Instead I opted for some healthy pancakes that I'd forgotten I had a recipe for. I even somehow managed to get Bryan to try a bite, though that's all he would have. He wasn't a fan. He's always said that if he's going to eat pancakes, he's going to eat the real deal. Ahh well, it was worth a shot. I personally like to stick to a healthy diet filled with variety. With these pancakes I never feel sluggish or guilty after eating them. I even top them with raw organic butter and watered down pure maple syrup. Sometimes I'll slice a few bananas or strawberries on top for a bit of a change. They are delicious, especially for being healthy!

Below is my recipe for the healthy pancakes.

OATMEAL PANCAKES

1/2 cup oal fashioned oatmeal

1/4 cup low fat cottage cheese

4 egg whites

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Process the oatmeal, cottage cheese, egg whites, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a blender or food processor until smooth.

Spray a nonstick skillet with cooking spray. (I use organic coconut oil.) Add the batter and cook over medium heat until both sides are lightly browned.

Serves 1 - Nutritional Facts Per Serving

I have been extremely jealous! Bryan has quickly grown to love Tyron's challenging workouts just as much as I have over the last few years. He comes home in the evening raving about everything Tyron has taught him and how efficient and extremely effective the workouts are. Besides Bryan gaining strength and energy, the fact that his body is changing drastically before his eyes is proof that the workouts are excellent. We're both enjoying all the changes.

Now for me, I've got to get this baby weight off my tummy! Ugh, it's just awful!! My goal with Tyron is to work out with him 3 days a week and 3 on my own. I'm currently 130 pounds consisting of way too much fat and not enough muscle. My goal weight is roughly 124 pounds. This is definintely the hardest part! Tyron and I have been able to meet twice a week for a couple weeks. This coming week we are going to try very hard to keep our goal of meeting 3 times. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Last week my wonderful mom took care of Aubrey for a couple of hours so I could slip away and work out with both Bryan and Tyron. Tyron actually played photographer while he instructed us on what to do. We all had the best time! The name of the work out was 20/10 Tabatas. It consisted of 4 supersetted exercises repeated 8 times with 20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest. It sounds confusing, but it is so simple to remember. You basically work out hard for a solid 30 minutes and that's your work out! Tyron's workouts are very efficient and so much fun!

Below are a bunch of pictures of our workout. We all laughed the whole way through so the photos are far from serious. In my future posts I'll be listing specific workouts. Today is just a bunch of fun photos. Hope you enjoy!
Bryan and I were up from 4-6am with our precious girl. Thank goodness once we finally got her down Bryan convinced me to try and get at least 30 more minutes of sleep. We both slept a little more than an hour when Aubrey cried out that she was hungry again. Bryan was leaving for a quick overnight trip to Greensboro in about an hour. We wanted to have breakfast together so while I fed Aubrey he showered and packed. Bryan played with Aubrey while I made the two of us eggs and oatmeal, our typical morning breakfast. I'm still in shock Bryan is putting up with it, but it's obviously paying off for him. He's sees a little more definition in his body everyday and is loving it. Now if I could just get the hard boiled eggs and veggie snacks in him 2-3 times a day...

Aubrey has been eating every two hours lately and sleeping 30-40 minutes in between...sometimes a little longer if I'm lucky. Well on this particular day I had a completely napless baby!!!!!! All day! Everytime she would get sleepy enough to take a nap it would be time to eat, burp, and change her diaper...we had that cycle on repeat all day! Finally around 5pm, when I had completed absolutely nothing all day and Aubrey was still awake in my arms, mom came to the rescue. She was determined to get our exhausted little girl some much needed rest. It took a little time and a lot of loving to finally convince her to sleep. Once she was down she was out cold. I filled two hours with a much needed shower, dinner, and tons of laundry. I had so many things that needed to be done that I couldn't relax. Aubrey woke up just as I crawled into bed. I think the little stinker knows when we're attempting to eat or sleep. She always wants to be a part of everything. Deep down Bryan and I love it though. I was pretty optomistic with Aubrey's timing on wanting to be fed. It was 10pm so I figured once I got her down she'd be out until maybe 5am. CSI NY kept Aubrey and I company while she ate. She's been eating for 40-50 minutes lately. Once she finished I burped her and changed her diaper. I sat her in her vibrating bouncy seat so she could watch me fold laundry. We giggled and chatted until she started to whimper and rub her eyes. I carried her in my arms into the nursery and rocked her to sleep. She was such a sweetie about going to bed. I again thought she's be out cold for most of the night!

At 3:15 my body woke up telling me it was time to feed Aubrey...yet she wasn't awake. I made a bottle and crawled back in bed. Not 5 mins later, haha, Aubrey cries out for food. She ate 8.5 ounces! She was obviously very hungry. I crawled back in bed a little after 5am and sent Bryan a text. All I said was, "Oh you so owe me!" No response so the stinker was obviously out cold. Lucky!

Aubrey slept almost two more hours before crying out. I stared at her on the video monitor hoping she'd go back to sleep. She did! :-) I curled back up for a second and then realized it was time to make another bottle. Ugh...I was so incredibly tired at this moment. I made Aubrey's bottle and then decided to eat breakfast since she wasn't quite awake. Again I filled my tummy with eggs and oatmeal while folding more laundry from the night before. Aubrey woke up just before 8am with only one thing on her mind...food! She again ate 8.5 ounces and hardly spit up a thing. Our little girl is growing up! She went down for her nap around 9:15 and is just now starting to stir. It's time to eat again!

My day yesterday is basically why I have not yet posted my workout with Tyron and Bryan from Tuesday with all the photos. Bryan comes home today and I train again with Tyron today so I'm hoping to get them up sometime this evening. Attached below are some photos of how I found Aubrey when she was waking up from her first nap of the day yesterday. I saw the whole thing happen on the video monitor and couldn't help but take a few photos before addressing Aubrey's little situation. Each of her little stretches kept making it worse. Look closely and you'll see her little fingers and the top of her head. Enjoy!!
First, Bryan attends to Aubrey by changing her diaper and showering her with kisses. I then take over and nurse her while he goes back to bed for a little extra rest. Of course certain situations cause us to sometimes stray from our typical routine. Tuesday morning was one of those mornings. Bryan walked into the room with a sleepy yet happy girl. We had been up with her just two hours earlier so we were going to wait to change her diaper until after I fed her. When Bryan started to hand her to me I quickly threw my hands up and caught my breath. Oh Bryan was in for quite a fun surprise!

Before Aubrey arrived, Bryan and I had decided on using cloth diapers. It has been quite the learning experience, but we are very happy with our decision. Right now we are using organic cotton inserts during the day and microfiber inserts at night. The microfiber keeps Aubrey dry much longer than the cotton, but if worn too consistantly it irritates her skin. On this particular Tuesday morning, we'd already been up with Aubrey around 5. It was already so close to the time we would normally get up that we decided to start using the organic cotton inserts for the day. Aubrey was still a little sleepy and went back down for a couple hours.

So back to the part where Bryan was about to hand Aubrey off to me...I was about to take her from his arms when I saw that her yellow diaper cover wasn't quite so yellow anymore. I laughed and suggested that he turn and look in the mirror. We both started dying laughing. Poor Aubrey probably had no idea why we were laughing. Our sweet little angel was probably so uncomfortable. Bryan quickly changed her diaper and then finally handed her off to me. At least we started our morning off with a little chuckle thanks entirely to our sweet little girl. Enjoy the photos!!
This was my very first Mother's Day! The night before Bryan told this story about how Aubrey was begging him to give me my gift early. He, in detail, relayed the story to me. It was actually pretty cute. Bryan held strong for once and did not give in. The gift was saved for Mother's Day.

Little did I know, Bryan woke up in the middle of the night to put my gift out in the nursery. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking I'd heard Aubrey cry and got up to feed her. Bryan was very sneaky and coaxed me back into bed until we were sure she was awake. I think I must have been half asleep because I didn't even think to look at our video monitor, which has been an amazing life saver by the way. So back to sleep I went. A couple hour later Aubrey let out a few cries signaling mommy that it was time to eat. As I walked into the nursery I saw a huge card propped up on the glider. I smiled and couldn't wait to get my hands on it, but wanted to wait until Bryan and Aubrey gave it to me. I went ahead and started feeding Aubrey as Bryan picked up the card and brought it to me. It was such an adorable card. It was very dimly lit in the nursery when I asked Bryan where he'd gotten it. He chuckled and said that he and Aubrey had made it. I was quite impressed. Inside was a much needed gift as well...an hour long massage with Denise, the most amazing massage therapist ever! I have been aching for a massage for so long. Since I can now lay on my tummy, I am going to thoroughly enjoy this wonderful gift.

Bryan, Aubrey, and I spent the entire day together. We made pancakes and eggs, enjoyed a couple movies, and took a family walk. It's a shame Mother's Day only happens once a year. I loved spending the entire day with my family, without interruptions. Thank you to my wonderful husband and beautiful daughter for making my day such a special one. I love you!
Today we did six exercises, each for 50 seconds with 10 seconds of rest. We repeated the entire circuit four times. This time I made it through...barely! Toward the end I was struggling to make my body do what my mind was telling it to. I told Tyron I was frustrated because I've always been able to do whatever he told me to do. Today I was literally telling my leg to move and I couldn't lift it. Tyron thought this was quite entertaining! He was also very encouraging though. He promised it wouldn't be long before I could do everything I used to be able to do along with all the new exercises he's throwing at me, which I absolutely love by the way!

Last Thursday we took measurements and I weighed in. Tyron is holding me accountable and checking my progress every two weeks. Bryan and I also took some photographs, but they turned out just horrible. We are going to try again this weekend. I'll post the photos and second week of measurements asap.

Aubrey has been a very special part of our lives for eight weeks today. During our play time this morning before working out I took a few quick photos of Aubrey. I also took a few this afternoon in a new non spit up on outfit. She's getting so big! Hope you enjoy the photos.
I was so nervous! I left Bryan with two bottles and a list of helpful tips. Bryan was so scared! It was honestly kind of cute to see him not acting like he could handle anything for once! I told him to relax and breathe. He has always so great with Aubrey. I knew he'd be just fine.
I, on the other hand, was such a nervous mommy throughout the three hours. I texted Bryan just 30 minutes after leaving the house. Of course, everything was perfectly fine. They were playing together in the living room. Throughout my entire appointment (which seemed to take a life time), all I could think about was Bryan and Aubrey. I just wanted to get home to my family and potentially save my husband from a mental breakdown. I had texted him a few more times but hadn't received a response. I had no idea what was going on.

On my drive home it seemed like every slow driving tourist would pull in front of me. It took me forever to get home! The moment I finally made it home and walked in the door, I was greeted by and smiling husband and happy baby. I couldn't believe it! I was so relieved....then Bryan invited me upstairs. Not only had my husband nervously cared for our baby girl for more than three hours, he had also cleaned everything! Laundry was washed and folded, bottles were washed and reassembled, carpets were vacuumed, beds and crib were perfectly made....everything was in it's place. Bryan just looked at me with a huge smile on his face. He was so proud! I was beyond impressed and entirely speechless. I couldn't believe how much he was able to accomplish while caring for Aubrey. He proudly told me how he'd mastered folding with one hand! I laughed. I was so incredibly proud of my sweet husband. I have a feeling I'll be setting quite a few more appointments so I can leave Daddy in charge!!Mega Mommieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00981556442893645565noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2720902132751181605.post-41253073582202868382010-04-27T15:51:00.000-04:002010-04-27T15:51:05.466-04:00Workout Routine Re-orientation...Ugh, my legs hurt already!!! Thanks to Tyron, I am truly in for it but am oh so very ready for the challenge. It has been seven weeks since Bryan and I welcomed baby Aubrey into our lives so I have had just enough time to rest and recover and am now ready to get back into bikini shape. Tyron and I decided to start out slow by working out only twice this week. Today was my first day!

I met Tyron at MegaFitness this morning at nine ready to go. He had planned on putting me through a 30 minute high intesity workout by completing several different exercises five times with only a minute rest in between. Well I didn't make it through five times...I only made it through three times in almost an hour. I was exhausted!! Tyron jokingly called this workout my re-orientation to training, haha. Even though I hated the feeling of being weak, it felt great to be back in the gym.

Thursday is my next training session with Tyron. In addition to training, we are taking photographs of my post pregnancy shape and also documenting my measurements and weight. I'll be posting them hopefully within a few days if Aubrey allows. :-) She is quite an attention grabber but that's perfectly okay with me!Mega Mommieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00981556442893645565noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2720902132751181605.post-69029315686547692162010-04-22T11:18:00.000-04:002010-04-22T11:18:59.557-04:00Almost Gym Time....Tuesday morning Bryan, Aubrey, and I headed to my six week check up with Dr. Gerber and were actually on time! Bryan and I are still getting used to getting the family ready rather than just the couple but we are quickly learning the ropes. We absolutely love having Aubrey with us as much as possible.

The semi violating once over of an appointment went as well as to be expected. Ugh, I am so over being poked and prodded for quite a while. Dr. Gerber is amazing though! She is quick and to the point and makes you feel as comfortable as humanly possible. She quickly gave me the news that I've been anticipating hearing since the day Aubrey arrived. I now have the green light to head back to the gym to work on getting back into shape. I truly cannot wait!

The moment we were all buckled in inside the car I texted Tyron letting him know I was ready to start training. Part of me wanted to start working out right away, but I knew waiting a few more days was probably smart. We are starting back next week! Along the way I'll be posting info about my journey back and as promised, no secrets! Photos, measurements, diets, workouts, and just miscellaneous stuff will all be posted.

Below are some pictures of us heading out the door to the appointment on Tuesday. (Emma is always close and wishes she could tag along.) We had to feed Aubrey as we finished getting ready. Everything worked out perfectly though. She was a sweetie at the doctor and of course, everyone oohed and ahhed over her. The entire office just loved her! Enjoy the photos...
We heard as early as three days and were just hoping Aubrey would that lucky. Well, as we rolled into week four with Aubrey's umbilical cord still very much intact, we were bummed. That little thing was hanging on for dear life and it was starting to smell just awful! Anyone holding Aubrey would have thought we never cared for her or bathed her. Poor baby. Those little cat baths we were giving her were getting difficult too. Keeping the center of Aubrey's body dry was not the easiest task. Thank goodness bathing her is a dream. She is an angel in the tub and just relaxes, not making a peep. She is such a sweet girl.

At the hospital, the nurses gave us tons of information on how to care for Aubrey in the first few months. We were given a book that talked a little bit about her umbilical cord. In the book it suggested we clean the area with alcohol until that little stinker fell off. However, the nurses highly advised against it, stating we should keep the area dry and allow plenty of air to hit it instead. They said it would heal up and fall off just as fast. We listened....until the forth week. I finally decided to clean it with alocohol. Oh I was so tempted to just try and nudge it a little. As I cleaned it, I realized it really was just hanging on by a thread. I was afraid of hurting Aubrey or a possible infection though so I just let it be. At least cleaning the area with alcohol made me feel a little better. It certainly looked better!

That afternoon Bryan came home to check on his girls and to grab some lunch with us. I had been so busy with Aubrey all morning that I hadn't been able to finish folding the laundry. Bryan took over and went straight into changing her diaper. As he was changing her he let out a huge gasp and started asking me what had happened to it, where was it, when did it happen, why didn't you tell me, how did I miss this.....Haha. I had no idea what he was talking about! Then all he could do was point at her tummy and stumble over his words. Silly silly. I stood up to look at Aubrey's tummy and finally realized that the umbilical cord had just fallen off. Yay!! It was stuck inside her little brown onesie so it was hard to see. Bryan was ecstatic to say the least, as was I!! We were so wrapped up in the moment we forgot to take pictures to document the moment. I was so upset that we forgot.

Below are some photos of bath time a couple weeks ago and also some more recent photos. Hope you enjoy!! Promise more photos soon!
She has been such a trooper putting up with Bryan and me! We have been trying so hard to figure out everything we can to keep her comfortable. We have altered the way we're feeding her just slightly, but it seems to be helping tremendously. Thank goodness!

Bryan ended up working a little later than normal last night so when he finally got home we had quite a bit to do before bed. I was already upstairs tidying things up and getting things ready for Aubrey's bath. Bryan and I hadn't eaten yet, but decided to go ahead with Aubrey's bath first in hopes that it would tucker her out and she would go right to sleep. Ugh, not a chance. We started her bath in her little bath tub, but didn't finish there! She had quite a blowout mid bath!! She was obviously relaxing, which we were excited about. Bryan quickly hopped into our bathtub and filled it just enough for Aubrey to finsih getting cleaned up. She is four weeks old and still has her umbilical cord attached so we have to be careful not to get her tummy wet. We can't wait for real bath time! We quickly finished round two of her bath in the big girl bath tub and wrapped her in her towel. Daddy is always in charge of holding Aubrey in her towel as I rub lotion on her already so soft limbs. Aubrey decided it would be funny to do a mini blowout in her towel on daddy's lap! The quick bath before dinner was turning into a very long process, which also was upsetting our baby girl.

Aubrey cried and cried for the longest time while Bryan tried to console her. He truly is amazing with her. I sat on the edge of the bed folding laundry admiring how sweet my husband was being to our wailing daughter. He could have easily been so frustrated. He rocked her close in his arms and had full blown sweet conversations with her the entire time. It was so adorable. I can't believe I didn't get the camera out! He'd kiss on her and smile and respond to all her little coos and faces. Everything he did worked to calm her down. I love that he has such a special touch with her. Shortly after she went down, Bryan and I finished up our to do lists and got ready for bed. It took us a little while to unwind and just as we did, Aubrey started talking...telling us she was ready for a new diaper and a full tummy. Bryan and I laughed and started the cycle once again. She was amazing this time and ate and went right back to sleep.

This morning was a big morning for all of us. A little more than four weeks ago we welcomed baby Aubrey into our lives. Bryan and I begged the hospital to release us early so we could get home and relax. In doing so, Aubrey was still too young to pass a mandatory hearing test before we left. They scheduled a follow up appointment one month following her birth date. Today was that appointment. Bryan and I both have encouraged eachother along the way that Aubrey was perfectly fine. It definitely tested our faith at times. As we sat in the office looking at our daughter with sound machines stuffed in her ears and a monitor with colorful dots and lines tracking her results, we each said a little prayer. When we finally heard the words spoken that her hearing was perfect, we were beyond thrilled. We were just so happy to hear everything 100% ok.

Aubrey is now home sleeping heavily in her swing as I finish up this blog. I should be resting too, but wanted to fill everyone in. Hope everyone has been enjoying this amazing weather! We can't wait to enjoy more of it! More pictures to come very soon!!Mega Mommieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00981556442893645565noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2720902132751181605.post-75328329924495003952010-04-03T11:19:00.000-04:002010-04-03T11:19:04.269-04:00Personal Posts...I have struggled back and forth with how personal to make these posts. Originally MegaMommies was dedicated solely to my getting back into shape after Aubrey was born. I planned to include all sorts of fitness related tid bits along the way. However, Bryan has mentioned to me on several occasions, that many people are bummed that I have not updated the site more often. Bryan and I have had a ton going on...just not really related to fitness at all. I have decided though to open up a little and share more about the Pallone Family's day to day experiences. I still plan on writing often about my MegaMommy transformation once I'm finally able to get back to the gym. Hope everyone enjoys!Mega Mommieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00981556442893645565noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2720902132751181605.post-87176964541161965142010-03-31T15:15:00.001-04:002010-04-03T11:12:26.517-04:00Tauts Belly Wrap...Before even beginning this post, I must first apologize for not writing sooner. I know I promised an update almost a week ago. Little Aubrey has kept us on our toes and literally away from the computer. We have been nursing a very bad tummy ache for several days. Poor Baby Aubrey. It breaks our hearts to see and hear her in pain. At the moment, she is calm and sleeping in her swing. Our hearts melt to see her so peaceful and only hope this will be the case more often. Horrible tummy aches are not welcome here.

A little more than a week ago I promised a post about Tauts Belly Wraps with photos included. I originally wrote about this product and how excited I was about using it. I have unfortunately since changed my mind. I have tried several times to wear the wrap. On the belly baboosh website they instruct you to wear the wrap immediately after delivery for 40 days and 40 nights. I could not even get the wrap around me! I left the hospital still looking 6-7 months pregnant. I was freaking out to say the least!! I decided I would start using the wrap as soon as I could get it to fit. I was able to get it around me after losing half the pregnancy weight at the end of the first week. I could not breathe and was so uncomfortable! I could feel excess skin rolling over the wrap on my back...something I've never had a problem with. I felt disgusting and was still hurting so much from the delivery, I decided it was not the time to start the 40 days. I again tried it the following week when Bryan's family came to visit Aubrey. I wore it for most of the day under a long strapless dress. Everyone in his family commented on how great I looked, however, I felt my secret was out every time they hugged me and touched the wrap. No one said anything but I felt so uncomfortable. The wrap rippled and buckled in places. If I made any movements other than standing or sitting the velcro would release a little bit and the noise would be obvious. I had had enough.

As of this week I am down to 129.5 pounds. I have lost more than 25 pounds in three weeks thanks to my amazing baby girl!! I still have a few to go but am well on my way. Bryan took a few photos to show the before and after effects of the tauts wrap. You will see I still have a little bit of a belly. This last part I think I'm going to have to work off with Tyron at the gym. Hopefully I'll be back in a couple weeks!

Below are a few photos of my tummy bare and tummy wrapped. To be honest, I can't tell that much of a difference. It held my tummy pretty tight but it is still so uncomfortable. It's actually hard to breathe. Enjoy my humbling photos!! Haha....
You're thin, but you just have that belly." Such a kind and loving statement. Haha. Thank goodness I know how to laugh off his silly comments.

Today marks day 11 since Aubrey finally arrived. My sweet, sweet girl is absolutely eating the pregnancy weight off of me! I am loving it!! So far I have dropped 21 pounds of the 30 ish gained. I never thought it would fall off of me this quickly. I thought for sure Tyron was going to have his work cut out for him! Me too of course! So we have roughly 10 pounds to go and unfortunately I know they are probably going to be the hardest. I am so ready to get back into my workouts, but am not able to quite yet.

As I was leaving the hospital about a week and a half ago, I was given a list of what I could and could not do for the next six weeks. I was stunned at the list! Most everyone knows the obvious, which is not being intimate with your partner for six weeks. With the pain I still feel at this very moment, I will have absolutely no problem with that! Sorry Bryan. :-) I do still love you very, very much!! Some of the other " do not do's" on that list were no climbing stairs for six weeks, no driving a car for three weeks, no household chores such as carrying laundry, vacuuming, or sweeping for six weeks, and no strenuous exercise for six weeks! Now to be honest, I pretty much ignored a good portion of these instructions in the first week. I was up and down the stairs, carrying laundry, cleaning the bathroom, and walking my dog. So with the pain I'm going through right now, I probably deserved it for not listening. I just felt awful needing so much help with everything. The last thing I wanted to do was ask Bryan to do the laundry or cook dinner after his long day at work. He has been wonderful and has been helping so much! Now if only he could go to the gym and work out a little for me!

I thought for sure I was going to be that girl that had a baby and two weeks later was destroying her body in the gym to get back into her old shape. I figured I'd made it through 8.5 months of the pregnancy in 3.5 inch heels...why not tough out the gym workouts a little early?? Not so much! In the mean time, I have been attempting to use a product called Tauts Belly Wraps. The celebrity Brooke Burke promotes the product. It is a belly wrap that is supposedly helpful in reducing the size of the swollen uterus and reducing water retention in the belly, making it helpful with losing inches fast, all while supporting the excess of unwanted baggy baby skin! This wrap is to be worn immediately following delivery for 40 days and 40 nights or however long it is felt necessary. I took this wrap with me to the hospital planning on wearing it immediately. Ha! Not a chance!! Even with ordering the correct size I could not even get the wrap around me. I could get parts to close but then my belly and excessive skin in other places would bulge out in funny places. Bryan thought it was hilarious! I even had him try and wrap me in it without any luck. My belly has been shrinking at quite a rapid pace, however it is definitely still there! I am going to again attempt to wear the wrap starting on Tuesday, which marks two weeks from delivery of Aubrey. By then I should be able to work my way into it. I promise pictures for sure!!Mega Mommieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00981556442893645565noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2720902132751181605.post-72956717527825230862010-03-16T19:55:00.001-04:002010-03-22T13:14:02.651-04:00Finally...She's Here!Monday, March 8th, Bryan and I had our final baby doctor appointment. I was officially 10 days late and so eager for some good news. I struggled through a not so fun exam which led to our doctor giving us two options....at least to start. She honestly thought my water would naturally break on its own within the next day or two and suggested I just head to the hospital once it happened, ready to go. She also gave us the option of inducing me the next day. Oh I was so confused! Dr. Gerber gave us a few minutes to discuss our options and I immediately started tearing up. Bryan was wonderful and extremely supportive of any decision I made. He wanted this pregnancy to be perfect for me. Originally Bryan and I had decided to go through this pregnancy as naturally as possible. However, being 10 days late I was starting to get just a little nervous and started paying very close attention to my baby's movements. When Dr. Gerber returned to the room I was still more confused than ever. She then asked the magic question that made up our final decision. She asked if the baby had kicked at least 10 times that day. On Sunday, baby Aubrey was going nuts in my tummy all day! I loved it!! All of Monday leading up to my appointment I could barely feel her move. Instantly Dr. Gerber did an ultrasound to check the baby and make sure everything was ok. Our final decision was made up for us and in a hurry. Baby Aubrey was not moving as much as she should have been. Dr. Gerber said it was time and I needed to check into the hospital that evening to monitor the baby. I was scheduled to be induced early Tuesday morning. I was scared and excited all at once! Things were not happening at all the way I had planned them, but then again, things were finally happening!

Bryan and I headed home for my final big meal before a day of yummy ice chips! Haha. I've kept up my healthy eating habits so I stuck with a salad with grilled chicken. I knew my tummy would be full and I'd still feel great if things started to move along quickly. We showered, double checked our packed bags, kissed our doggie Emma goodbye, and headed to the hospital.

Once checked in at the hospital and shown to our room, I was given the dreaded hospital gown with no back. I honestly thought I'd be a little comfortable for at least a little while. Not so much...and it was only the beginning! I quickly changed into the gown and hopped into the hospital bed. I then had two fetal monitors strapped around my belly, blood pressure monitor strapped tightly to my arm, heart monitor taped to my finger, iv inserted into my other arm, and blood drawn. When I thought the worst was over, our nurse said she had to give me a quick exam to see if I'd progressed any further than when Dr. Gerber had seen me earlier that day. I hadn't. I was still only 2 cm dilated and not showing any signs of anything changing any time soon. Because of this I was given cervidil to get things moving along. Our nurse said I'd feel some cramping and contractions soon. With my husband curled up in a semi reclined chair next to me attempting to sleep I watched the hours tick by on the clock, still feeling fine and a little too nervous to sleep. Finally around midnight I drifted off to a very light sleep. I was too uncomfortable hooked up to all the different machines and monitors to get comfortable. Around 1am the contractions finally hit me. The pain was instant and so much worse than I expected. I fought through it as long as I could. The last bearable contraction hit around 2 am and squeezed Bryan's arm so hard he woke up from his semi sleep and went to find Ellen, our wonderful nurse. She checked my progress only to find the cervidil had fallen out and I was only 3 cm dilated. I was so disappointed. She said she could help with the pain a little to help me sleep through the rest of the night and prepare me for my big morning right around the corner. At this point I was all for it. Unfortunately Aubrey's heart rate then became a concern to the nurses. I again fought through the pain until she was given the ok at 3:30 am, 1.5 hours later. Ugh, that was not fun! Once medicated, I was immediately able to fall asleep and finally get some rest.

At 6:30 am I woke up just slightly to find Ellen hooking my iv up to the pitocin. I was extremely groggy and quickly reminded as to why I hardly ever take medicine. I hate not feeling in control of my own body. Ellen told me her shift was ending and to try and sleep a little longer. It was going to be a big day. I was so frustrated trying to control my speech. I was thinking so clearly but couldn't seem to get my tongue to produce the thoughts in my head. I'm sure it was quite amusing to everyone in the room. I was able to close my eyes for about 20-30 minutes longer before the pitocin kicked in and Terri, our day shift nurse arrived to introduce herself and check on my progress. As it turns out, Terri works out at MegaFitness and was actually at the gym training with Tyron the day of the MegaMommies photo shoot. Bryan and I were so excited!! It was so nice to have a familiar friendly face taking care of us. She was amazing!!!! She checked my progress and said I was dilated to 6 cm. Finally! I was so happy to hear something actually happened while I was sleeping. She asked how I was feeling and if I wanted an epidural. I thought I was dying from the pain the pitocin was causing me to go through. I quickly told her yes in hopes that the anesthesiologist would stop by our room first before heading off to the 5 other surgeries he had to administer epidurals for just that morning. Things got a bit fuzzy for me over the next hour. The contractions were extremely painful. I kept an eye on the monitor and focused on my breathing. Terri kept reminding me I could do anything for 1 minute...and to just act like I was working out. It made perfect sense to me and helped tremendously. Dr. Gerber then arrived to break my water. Aubrey still didn't want to come out! Dr. Gerber was wonderful and had the nurses call again to get the anesthesiologist to stop by our room before the others. He arrived within the next 15-20 minutes and went to work. It took maybe a total of 10 minutes and two numbing pokes in my lower back before the contractions were no longer painful, just a lot of pressure. Terri then decided to check on my progress and told me I was 10 cm. I couldn't believe how quickly everything was happening! Dr. Gerber was called to update her on my status, but Terri said I was ready to start pushing. At this point it was 10 am. The morning was flying by! And then the excitement began!

About 20 minutes into my pushing the hospital power went out! Terri, Bryan, and I kept watching the monitor to determine when it was time for me to push. I could feel the pressure when it was time, but it was nice seeing how long the contractions on the monitor were lasting. For some odd reason the generator did not kick in. I asked if I could continue pushing because I could feel the pressure of the contraction and knew when they were hitting. I kept on working until the power finally kicked back on. For some reason the computer and monitor in my room following every detail of what was going on with my body would not turn back on. This turned into a very humbling experience for me. Tons of different people were coming in and out of our room trying to fix the situation as I was pushing. I tried not to think about it and honestly still do a little, haha. I vaguely remember Bryan sprawled out on the hospital floor trying to turn the computer off and then back on and things finally working correctly again. He was Mr. Fix It! I was in another world though and still so focused on seeing my baby girl. At this point Dr. Gerber had arrived and was ready to deliver Aubrey into my arms. She was born 10 minutes later at 10:49 am. Aubrey Elizabeth Pallone 7.05 ounces 20.5 inches born March 9, 2010. Every emotion imaginable ran through my body in that very moment. Bryan and I had created this beautiful little crying girl sprawled out on my tummy. She was gorgeous. I instantly saw she had Bryan's eye shape and lips. Her eyes were a deep stormy blue just like her momma's. She was absolutely precious.

Dr. Gerber said I did amazing and everything went just perfectly. She apparently was planning on a quick delivery the entire time because of the shape I had managed to keep myself in throughout the pregnancy. She smiled and congratulated us then told me to rest up a little while Bryan and the baby went to the nursery.

During all the craziness of the night and morning Bryan never left my side. He was the perfect husband. He never complained once even though I know he was so uncomfortable and completely exhausted. I remember asking him if he was ok constantly. I was so concerned about him being ok. Being so heavily affected by the pain medicine was so frustrating to me. I wanted to remember every specific detail, take in every special moment, and admire how well my husband was handling the entire process. For all of you that know Bryan personally, you know just how much he constantly talks about how much of a weak stomach he has. This day is obviously a day that will contradict that statement. He handled so many things I never imagined he'd make it through. He even assisted Terri in some pretty graphic and humbling moments. I couldn't imagine him doing anything more perfectly. He is my perfect husband and I love him with everything that I am.

I must apologize for not updating the blog as much as I should be. It's been a long week getting used to being a mommy and adjusting into a new lifestyle. I promise to update again very soon and post a bunch of pictures from our special day and our new little addition to the family.
She is taking after her daddy's love of the heat and sunshine. She has chosen to continue to stay in mommy's warm tummy for the time being.

We had our very uneventful doctors appointment this week. Not much has changed in the progress of her being ready to meet the world. Our doctor was hopefully still that it would only be a few days. She truly felt we wouldn't make it to another doctors appointment. Our next appointment is scheduled for Monday, March 8 just in case. If we do make it to that appointment, I will most likely be admitted to the hospital that evening to be induced.

Until then, Bryan and I will continue to try all the little tricks to start the labor process naturally. Trust me, we have tried everything!!! All this extra walking and cleaning has thankfully kept my weight exactly the same the enitre last month. I can't tell you how excited I am to get my weight back under 150 lbs again!!!

Once again, we will keep you posted on any changes.Mega Mommieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00981556442893645565noreply@blogger.com0
